Biographical Information

Carl E. Jones, Jr.
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Regions Financial Corporation

Carl E. Jones, Jr. is chairman, and chief executive officer of Regions Financial Corporation. Mr. Jones started his career in banking in 1962 when he joined Merchants National Bank (the predecessor bank of Regions Bank in Mobile, Alabama). He was elected president of Regions Bank in Mobile in 1978 and became chief executive officer in 1981. Mr. Jones assumed additional duties with Regions in 1984 when he became the regional president for Southern Alabama, and later the regional president for Louisiana. Mr. Jones was elected chief operating officer in 1997, president and chief executive officer in 1998 and in 2001 he assumed the additional role of chairman of Regions Financial Corporation. In July 2004 his title became chairman and chief executive officer.
